DIRECTOR l CHOREOGRAPHER 

My name is Michael C. Flores

I am a Chicago-based director, choreographer and theatre artist. I recently earned my MFA in Directing (Theatre) from the University of Iowa. 

I seek to investigate the truth and interrogate it by unraveling the work of an oppressive society. Through my work, I am able to uncover the honesty in a moment by curating a process where performers have autonomy over their bodies. 

I direct plays, musicals, devised and dance work. In Muscal Theatre I am able to use musicality as a function to serve a moment and drive actors to motivate actions through analysis and impulse. 

My choreographic work can extend beyond just creating spectacle and to the incorporation of movement to accompany a play. 

I lead by striving to form creative bonds with other artists; generating curiosity while examining the past and contesting current structures.
